Patricia Ackerman is an Argentinean psychologist, interested in psychoanalysis, and self-taught photographer. Probably influenced by her profession, she likes to take pictures of people in different situations, focusing on their expressions.
Often there are people in her pictures, in presence or in “strokes of their absence“. She likes to take photos in the streets, with people immersed in casual geometries, which change as in a kaleidoscope. Currently Patricia is also exploring the solitude in the nature.
In her “Intercepted space” series, the architecture is the protagonist. Architecture is defined as the art of projecting spaces, spaces in which the human being lives. But it is on the outside where it carries most of its activities, it is for this reason that the man has been dedicated to finding or transform places and enabling them to locate the architectural spaces.
“We formed with the space surrounding us a kaleidoscopic relationship, interrupting the forms and setting up others. I believe that the human presence gives the dimension of time, making the space a place. Or an intercepted space.”
Patricia has participated in various personal and collective exhibitions in Buenos Aires, Chile and Colombia. Her works have been selected for many national and international competitions, winning the first prize in the Sony Awards 2014, for her country, Argentina.
