Natalia Evelyn Bencicova is a young visual creative working mostly with digital photography. Grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia, she currently studies photography and fine art in Vienna at University of Applied Arts.
In her work she is trying to pursue a point in which the commercial and artistic meet, focusing on conceptual as well as visual aspect of photography. It is important for her to combine academic knowledge, interesting aesthetics, strong message and active communication with the audience.
Her “Ecce Homo” project is about humanity and mankind’s behaviour in this world. She illustrates archetypal situations by positioning human bodies in cold, unspecified interiors.
“I was trying to avoid any kind of classification of these places and people. It can be anyone and everyone, no matter their age, sex or social class – a sense of generality also supported by their nudity”.
“ASYMPTOTE” series is a fusion of observations, facts and photography illustrating situations from real life under the socialist regime created in order to break the traditional confines of the public’s views on the era and its aesthetics.
This project should serve as a complex illustration of the era and a kind of eye-opener especially for the younger generation.
