Daniel Ramos Obregón is a Colombian designer and fashion artist, graduated in 2014 from the MA Fashion Artefact at London College of Fashion UAL, with a BA in Communication Design at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá (Colombia).
As stated by Daniel, his work “deals with different notions of the “self”; the way we identify ourselves as and the embodiment of these constructs within our physical bodies. I wish to explore the limits within the interdisciplinary relationship between fashion, sculpture and performance arts from a conceptual, aesthetical and fully wearable point of view.”
One of his project, “Outrospection; The Body and Mind“, starts from the concept of “Outrospection” introduced by philosopher Roman Krznaric, where he proposes that, in order to know oneself, one must live towards the outside. The work represents the mind being projected inside out of the body as a way of self-expresion and representation.
In “re:Nacimiento“, considering the aesthetics of the body in renaissance painting, he creates a contemporary portrait which explores the corporeality throughout the language of the skin. The external representation of the ‘self’ as a build up of layers of information and emotions that give shape to our bodies.
