Celebrating its eighth anniversary, The PhotoPhore is proud to be partner of YOUNG ART TAIPEI (YAT), the first hotel art fair that features works produced by emerging and established artists under the age of 45, aiming to open a window in the art world to young talents.
YAT 2016 is held in Sheraton Grande Taipei (Taiwan), from the 22nd to the 24th of April 2016. Continuing its great sales record from the past, YAT is successful at promoting young artists to domestic collectors. Over the years, YAT prides itself for not only in constant pursue to create distinctive exhibitions, but moreover, continuously venturing into creating and promoting diverse activities.
YAT expect itself to take on the role of linking contemporary art in East Asia to the world. With vigorous participation of 62 galleries from domestic and the Greater East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and etc. YAT explores the possibilities and diversities of contemporary Asian art with great enthusiasm.
PHOTO EYE, a series of photography-based events, was launched by YAT in 2014: Portfolio Review invites a variety of curators, scholars and artists from all over the world to participate as fair’s reviewers, providing a precious opportunity for photographic artists to discuss their work and concept on a one-on-one basis with the professional group; the very first Photobook Workshop is another spotlight for PHOTO EYE 2016.
Having published Kimura-Ihei-Award-winning photobooks in Japan, Kimi Himeno, representing AKAAKA ART PUBLISHING, Inc, will provide a live demonstration of photobook editing and design techniques. Through these dynamic events and exhibitions, YAT is devoted to the photographic medium and leads a vibrant new era for its collection, preservation and display.
